Hello there! My name is Sheryl and it is my pleasure to create designs I hope you’ll love. I have been drawing my whole life and enjoy making people laugh through my art. Painting fairies, celebrities, and all around fun character designs is what I truly enjoy. I was a Lead Character Designer for 10 years. My work can be seen in many animated television shows. If you like, you can check out my outdated (*blush*) IMDB page here. My animation career led me to my current career in games. For over 7+ years, I have illustrated licensed properties for several high profile clients such as Hasbro, Nickelodeon, Mattel, and Dreamworks to name a small few.
The idea of Redonkadoodles, formerly known as Redonkulous Designs was hatched in 2009. A friend gave me the idea to open an Etsy shop after things went sideways during my career in animation. I was 5 months pregnant with my first child at the time. The events eventually led to Redonkadoodles’ birth…as well as the birth of my son.
I left the animation industry to start a new career in the game industry. My experience and expertise allowed amazing opportunities for me to slide into many lead roles. Seven years later the game company declared insolvency in 2017. It was total devastation for myself and all 150+ workers at the time. Fortunately, my career as a freelance game artist continues to this day. My schedule is now a bit more flexible, allowing me to put my heart into my store. In 2018 – 2019 my schedule allowed me to start creating new content – YAY! I’ve been able to expand some products. Our website was also in dire need of a makeover and released in 2020! Needless to say, it has almost been a full time job behind the scenes. I couldn’t have done it without the help and support of my husband and brother.
Redonkadoodles is my happy place, where I can be my own boss and draw whatever I fancy and bring joy to others around the world. Being an artist has career ups and downs, no doubt about that! The whole reason behind this hobby shop is to provide for my growing family and continue my love of doodling to share with my fans around the world. It is my hope and dream to one day turn it into my full time career. My goal is to bring amazing products to my customers and fan base. I know what it is like to go through major ups and downs in life, so it’s also really important to bring laughter and color therapy to crafters. Let my illustrations help you at your craft shows! It’s a win win! I’m not a large company. I’m a one person show with the help & support of family. Believe me when I say, when a sale is made by you – (yes YOU), an entire family does a happy dance!
Your support is important to me, and I look forward to developing a long-term relationship with you. Thank you for supporting our small hobby shop.
